SAINTS--Human Rights
(Tune: When the Saints go Marching In)

When people's rights receive respect
When people's rights receive respect
Oh how I want to be in that number
When people's rights receive respect

Variations:
When immigrants are treated fair
When profiling has been wiped out
When health care is a right for all
When poverty has been erased
When every child has what they need
When Congress speaks for you and me

WOMEN OF THE WORLD
(Tune: Put your arms around me honey)

Women of the world
Let us throw off our chains
Let us have a taste of economic gains
Oh, oh, reproductive rights
We demand them every day and night

We want women's work made a priority
International women's day a holiday
Oh oh, housework done for pay
Third world debt cancelled today

Celebrate the women who are in your life
Mother, sister, granny, daughter, lover, wife
Oh, Oh, I always knew
What we women could do!

FOLLOW THE MONEY
(tune: "Bush Barrel Polka")

Follow the money
To see why this war was long planned.
Follow the money,
And then we will all understand.
Follow the money,
It leads to the White House front door!
They've gone and bombed the Iraqis
So Halliburton can get more.

George Bush and Cheney,
People we choose to oppose.
They lie to the people
While the list of our dead grows and grows!
Big money interests
Dictate our government's plan.
It's time now to take back our country
Let's kick Bush out on his can.

You can see the truth, isn't it so?
They're not hiding much,
Their greed still shows,
No matter what the PR says,
Dollar signs blaze in blood red

Pfizer and WalMart,
Bechtel and Citigroup too,
Reap all the profits
And don't give a fig about you!
We've got to stop them
And all those who profit from war.
Yes, we will follow the money!
Let's buy peace instead of war!

ARE YOU SLEEPING?
(tune: Frere Jacques)

Are you sleeping, are you sleeping,
Uncle Sam? Uncle Sam?
Anti-war bells ringing
Hear the people singing
No to War! No to War!

IT'S TIME FOR ELECTION REFORM
(Tune: Johnny's So Long At the Fair)

CHORUS:
Oh dear, what can the matter be?
Big money is killing democracy,
Our elections are fraught with hypocrisy
No one can run if they're poor.

Our taxes are cut but that's just for the wealthy,
While poor people cannot afford to stay healthy!
Our tax money's wasted on bombs that are stealthy.
It's time for election reform.

CHORUS

They own all the newspapers and TV stations
They lie through their teeth to the folks in the nation
Our voting procedure's an abomination!
It's time for election reform.

They get the big contracts without even bidding
And rake in big bucks - now who are they kidding/
We Grannies are ragin'; we won't just be knitting
We'll work for election reform.

CHORUS:
Oh dear, what can the matter be?
Big money is killing democracy,
Our elections are fraught with hypocrisy,
That's gonna change in oh-four!

LOOK AROUND YOU
(Tune: Clementine)

Look around you, see the people
Who are working everyday
For the kind of world we all want,
Where the children laugh and play
It's a world with no more weapons,
Guns are banned and want is rare,
Where all races live together,
Everyone has good health care.

Equal rights and equal wages,
Social justice on the earth,
No pollution on the planet,
A new world will come to birth.
Look around you see the people
Who are working everyday
For a world of peace and plenty
Where the grandkids laugh and play.

THE PATRIOT ACT
(Tune: My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean)

The Patriot Act is disaster
It brought us unspeakable harm,
It trampled our privacy ri-ghts
And sounded a dreadful alarm!

CHORUS:
Bring back, bring back,
Oh bring back my freedom to me, to me
Bring back, bring back
Oh bring back my freedoms to me.

My country for you I am singing
My country for you I will cry
My country what's going to happen
My country, please don't be my spy!

CHORUS:

You frustrate my ri-ghts to dissent
You censor the books that I read,
You ja-il our immigrant students
Is that how you're going to lead?

CHORUS:

You're waging a war on your people
Denying them their basic rights,
You're stifling expression of free press,
And all this because of your might

CHORUS
