WAL-MART IS COMING TO TOWN
(Tune: "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town")

You'd better watch out, it's happening fast
Mom and Pop shops are a thing of the past
Wal-Mart stores are coming to town

The corner store's gone, it couldn't compete
With mega-marts covering a million square feet
Wal-Mart stores are coming to town

Two hundred billion dollars
They're haulin' in each year
They're the biggest corporation
In both the hemispheres

They say they're "just folks", simple and plain
We know them as the Merchants of Shame
Wal-Mart stores are coming to town
You'd better take note if you're in retail
Tomorrow your job might be up for sale
Wal-Mart stores are coming to town

A poverty wage is what you'll expect
When you've got the Waltons writing your check
Wal-Mart stores are coming to town
They're slashing pay and prices
A real downward race
Destroying our economy
While they wear their happy face

So it's time to say "NO", we're taking a stand
Shopping for Justice, that is our plan
Wal-Mart stores aren't running this town!

HARK THE WAL-MART BANNER SAY
(Tune: "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing!")

Hark, the Wal-Mart banners say,
"It's made in, the U.S.A."
But read the fine print and you'll see,
Most things come from overseas.

Sweatshop factories exploit children,
While Sam Walton rakes in billions
Tell us where your factories are,
Do they exploit the world's poor?
Hark, to Wal-Mart, Grannies rage,
People deserve a living wage!

A quarter-an-hour in Honduras,
Just five cents in Bangladesh.
Seven-day weeks in Guatemala,
Indonesians earn ten cents!

Workers beaten for mistakes,
Wal-Mart, this is a disgrace!
Tell us where your factories are,
Do they exploit the world's poor?
Hark, to Wal-Mart, Grannies rage,
People deserve a living wage!

Wal-Mart sweatshops won't stay secret,
We will let the whole world see.
We don't want our hard earned money
Siphoned off, by corporate greed!

We want human rights today,
Wal-Mart, we won't go away!
Tell us where your factories are,
Do they exploit, the world's poor?
Hark, to Wal-Mart, Grannies rage!
People deserve a living wage!

AWAY IN A SWEATSHOP
(by Canadian Raging Grannies)

Away in sweatshop where no one can see
The immigrant seamstresses work constantly
Conditions are awful, the pay is absurd
The boss he will fire them if they say a word.
Away in a fact'ry, an ocean away
Young girls making shoes for a dollar a day.
Please do not complain about exploitation
Cause this factory's in a Most Favored Nation.
Away in the Congress, the Senators fat
Count up their PAC dollars, pass NAFTA and GATT.
They couldn't care less about workers in need
They've traded their conscience to service their greed!

LOOK AT WAL-MART
(Tune: "Clementine")

Look at Wal-Mart in your city
Where the people often shop,
It's a store that sells cheap products
Made in foreign sweatshops.

Chorus
So stop shopping at this Wal-Mart
'Til it treats its workers well,
And if Wal-Mart won't cooperate,
They can just go straight to hell.

And its management whose treatment
Of the women is unfair,
And the companies it deals with
End up losing their fair share.

Chorus

Living wage is non-existent,
They can never unionize,
When they try to, they get fired!
Please don't shop here we advise.

Chorus

SAY NO TO WAL-MART
(Rose DeShaw) Tune: Hail, Hail the Gang's All Here

Wal-Mart's the problem here
Why the heck do we care?
'Cause they oughta play fair
Hail, Hail, a brand new day
When Wal-Mart learns another way!
(Repeat 3 times)

WE FEED THE CEO'S
(Canadian Grannies)
Tune: "It's Off To Work We Go"
from Snow White

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, we feed the CEOs
We sweat and sew, they get the dough,
Hi Ho, Hi Ho, Hi Ho,

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, Our lives are full of woe
Our quotas grow, the more we sew
Hi Ho, Hi Ho, Hi Ho,
Oh me, Oh my, we're worked until we die,
While profits go to CEOs,
Hi Ho, Hi Ho, Hi Ho,

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, This system isn't fair,
Does anybody really care?
Hi Ho, Hi Ho, Hi Ho,
Hi Ho, Hi Ho, The workers need more dough,
We fight for one, we fight for all,
Hi Ho, Hi Ho.
